Flagship Tamil Nadu schemes and who qualifies
Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai — ₹1,000/month for women
Monthly income support of ₹1,000 paid by DBT to the woman head of eligible families. Key eligibility rules:
- Woman aged 21 or older; one woman per ration card
- Annual family income below ₹2.5 lakh
- Family land within 5 acres wetland or 10 acres dryland
- Household electricity consumption under 3,600 units/year
- Excluded: families of central/state government employees, PSU and bank staff, income-tax or professional-tax payers, pensioners, elected representatives, and owners of four-wheelers (car/jeep/tractor)

Pudhumai Penn — ₹1,000/month for girl students
₹1,000 per month for girls who studied Classes 6–12 in Tamil Nadu government schools and continue into higher education. Students from private or government-aided schools are not eligible. Enrolment runs through the education department's Penkalvi portal, usually via your college.
