Tamil Nadu runs some of India's most generous state schemes — monthly income support for women, free bus travel, breakfast and education incentives for students — alongside everything the central government offers. But each scheme has its own portal and rules. Here's how to check what you qualify for, plus the eligibility rules for TN's flagship schemes.

3 ways to check your eligibility in Tamil Nadu

  1. SchemeCheck on WhatsApp — one chat covering TN state schemes, central schemes, and private scholarships. Send "Hi" to wa.me/917892505983; works in Tamil.
  2. myScheme.gov.in — the central portal; choose Tamil Nadu as your state in the Find Scheme questionnaire to include TN schemes. Full walkthrough in our master guide.
  3. e-Sevai centres — Tamil Nadu's citizen service centres handle applications and certificate services in person (tnesevai.tn.gov.in). Useful if you don't have a smartphone.
